Created by Italian craftsmen for the King of France, his royal highness, King Francois I, Herringbone is renowned as one of the original parquetry patterns developed in Europe. In 1539, King Francois I, used this design on floors within the Chateau de Fontainebleau.

Timbers reclaimed, and re-milled to produce Earthwood Victorian Origins are hand-removed structural timbers from roof, ceiling, wall and floor frames of houses and warehouses demolished all across Victoria.
Timber species reclaimed include Blackbutt, Oak, Messmate, Alpine Ash, Mountain Ash, Stringybark, Silvertop Ash, and Southern Beech.
