Created by Italian craftsmen for the King of France, his royal highness, King Francois I,  Herringbone is renowned as one of the original parquetry patterns developed in Europe. In 1539, King Francois I, used this design on floors within the Chateau de Fontainebleau.

Herringbone parquet is a classic European pattern that is made from blocks and assembled on a right angle that creates the typical V shape.

The Gladstone Pipeline in far North Queensland runs for nearly 500km from the Arcadia Valley to the distribution port of Gladstone. All along the route thousands of mature native trees were felled and milled into sleepers to hold the pipes during construction.
